The Alabama Geological Society (AGS) offers student travel grants to offset the cost of travel for graduate or undergraduate students who would like to attend professional conferences and present research. The AGS believes that the presentation of research in a professional setting provides invaluable experience for students as well as the potential for future opportunities such as further education, employment, and/or the establishment of collaborative work.
To qualify for the grant, a student must meet two requirements:
- Be a member of AGS (may apply for membership at the time of applying for the grant).
- Submit a copy of the abstract accepted by the conference and the accompanying notification of acceptance for presentation. Please include the name of the conference and the dates.
These grants will be in the amount of $200 and will be limited to the first 10 applicants.
