The Department of Geological Sciences dominated the 11th Annual Excellence in Community Engagement Award Ceremony that was held in Bryan Center on March 14th, 2017. Dr. Yuehan Lu was recognized for “Engaging USDA scientists and landowner for identifying sources of nutrient pollution in agricultural watershed” with community partners Landowners in Florence, AL and Dr. Natasha Dimova for “Establishing Alabama GeoKids Initiative” with Arcadia Elementary School, Tuscaloosa, AL. Congratulations go to all graduate students involved in these two projects!
