A variety of graduate teaching assistantships, graduate research assistantships, and fellowships are available with 9-month stipends that start at $17,964 for Teaching Assistantships and Graduate Council Research Fellowships, plus a full tuition waiver presently worth $26,950. Exceptional Ph.D. students may receive a Lindahl Scholarship totaling $22,000 for a nine month appointment. Research assistantships pay up to $25,000 for a 12-month position. Summer support is often available.
Teaching assistantships are awarded by the department on the basis of the student background and academic credentials, and our curriculum requirements.
Many of our students are supported on grants and contracts that are supervised by individual members of the faculty. Thus financial support usually requires a faculty member to recommend you for a position as their research assistant.
