Research Interests

My research has been primarily focused on Alabama’s surface and subsurface geology and the state’s rich endowment of geologically related natural resources and have published extensively on the geology of the state and region. Areas of particular interest are Gulf Coastal Plain stratigraphy, sedimentary basin analysis, petroleum geology, the regulation of oil and gas operations, and the role of the geosciences in public policy.
