Research Interests

My research interests include integrated interpretation of lithospheric structures,  interaction of lithosphere with mantle, driving mechanism of plate motion and thermo-mechanical evolution of subduction. I use geophysical observables (among others) to constrain model predictions. Particularly, I’m interested in methods of gravity, magnetic and heat flow data interpretation from extensional and compressional tectonic regimes.

Current Research Projects

I have been working on lithospheric models of active convergent zones using satellite-derived gravity data. The main objective of this study is to determine the spatial resolution of satellite-only and combined Earth Gravitational Models from GRACE  & GOCE missions. The project was funded by German Research Foundation (DFG) under the framework of ‘Mass transport and mass distribution in the system Earth’ (Special Priority Program 1257).

Another component of my research focuses on driving mechanism of plate motion (Ridge-push) and Gravitational Potential Energy of lithosphere (GPE). This study is based on satellite Geoid data.
